【摘要】:Twoseparatetestmethodsareoutlinedforuseinevaluationof(1)mattresscomponents,innerspringsandboxspringsand(2)mattressesandmattresssets.Componentinnerspringandboxspringtestmethodsincludemeasurementsoffirmness,firmnessretention,durability,andeffectofimpact.Mattressandmattresssettestmethodsincludemeasurementsoffirmness,firmnessretention,durability,effectofimpact,andheightchange.Oneormoreofthetestmethodsshallbeusedseparatelyorincombinationtoprovideforappropriateevaluations.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverrecognizedmethodsfortestingmattressinnersprings,boxsprings,andfinishedmattressesormattresssets,orboth,toensureuniformityofresults.1.2Thesetestmethodsareapplicabletoun-upholsteredmattresscoreunitsincludingbutnotlimitedtoinnersprings,airchambers,andfoamcores,un-upholsteredfoundationsincludingbutnotlimitedtoboxspringandbuildupfoundations,finishedfoundationsandmattressconstructions.Datadevelopedisforcomparativeanalysiswithnopass/failcriteriaapplicable.1.3Thedurabilitytest(Section7),impacttest(Section8)andfirmnessretentiontest/surfacedeformation(Section9)requireupholsteredsamples.Firmnesstestingmayberanonun-upholsteredcomponents,innerspringunitsandflexibleboxsprings(6.1through6.4),orfinishedmattressesormattresssets(6.5through6.8).Astandardizedupholsterypackageisspecifiedifevaluatingamattresscoreorun-upholsteredfoundation.Thesetestmethodsareintendedtobeusedonnewlymanufacturedproducts..1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
