【摘要】:Mostorganicliquidsandsolidswilligniteinapressurizedoxidizinggasatmosphereifheatedtoasufficientlyhightemperatureandpressure.Thisprocedureprovidesanumericalvalueforthetemperatureattheonsetofignitionundercarefullycontrolledconditions.Meansforextrapolationfromthisidealizedsituationtothedescription,appraisal,orregulationoffireandexplosionhazardsinspecificfieldsituations,arenotestablished.Rankingoftheignitiontemperaturesofseveralmaterialsinthestandardapparatusisgenerallyinconformitywithfieldexperience.Thetemperatureatwhichmaterialwillignitespontaneously(AIT)willvarygreatlywiththegeometryofthetestsystemandtherateofheating.Toachievegoodinterlaboratoryagreementofignitiontemperatures,itisnecessarytouseequipmentofapproximatelythedimensionsdescribedinthetestmethod.Itisalsonecessarytofollowthedescribedprocedureascloselyaspossible.Thedecompositionandoxidationofsomefullyfluorinatedmaterialsreleasessolittleenergythatthereisnoclear-cutindicationofignition.Norwilltherebeaclearindicationofignitionifasamplevolatilizes,distillingtoanotherpartofthereactionvessel,beforereachingignitiontemperature.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetemperatureatwhichliquidsandsolidswillspontaneouslyignite.Thesematerialsmustignitewithoutapplicationofsparkorflameinahigh-pressureoxygen-enrichedenvironment.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedforuseatpressuresof2.1to20.7MPa(300to3000psi).Thepressureusedinthedescriptionofthemethodis10.3MPa(1500psi).Thetestmethod,asdescribed,isforliquidsorsolidswithignitiontemperatureintherangefrom60to425x00B0;C(140to800x00B0;F).1.3Thistestmethodisforhigh-pressurepureoxygen.Thetestmethodmaybeusedinatmospheresfrom0.5%to100%oxygen.1.4Anapparatussuitablefortheserequirementsisdescribed.Thistestmethodcouldbeappliedtohigherpressuresandmaterialsofhigherignitiontemperature.Ifmoresevererequirementsorotheroxidizersthanthosedescribedaredesired,caremustbetakeninselectinganalternativesafeapparatuscapableofwithstandingtheconditions.1.5ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
