【摘要】:Airleakagebetweenanairdistributionsystemandunconditionedspacesaffectstheenergylossesfromthedistributionsystem,theventilationrateofthebuilding,andtheentryrateofairpollutants.Thedeterminationofinfiltrationenergyloadsandventilationratesofresidencesandsmallcommercialbuildingsaretypicallybasedontheassumptionthattheprincipaldrivingforcesforinfiltrationandventilationarethewindandindoor/outdoortemperaturedifferences.Thiscanbeaninappropriateassumptionforbuildingsthathavedistributionsystemsthatpassthroughunconditionedspaces,becausetheexistenceofrelativelymodestleakagefromthatsystemhasarelativelylargeimpactonoverallventilationrates.Theairleakagecharacteristicsoftheseexteriordistributionsystemsareneededtodeterminetheirventilation,energy,andpollutant-entryimplications.Airleakagethroughtheexteriorairdistributionenvelopemaybetreatedinthesamemannerasairleakageinthebuildingenvelopeaslongasthesystemisnotoperating(seeTestMethodE779).However,whenthesystemblowerison,thepressuresacrosstheairdistributionsystemleaksareusuallysignificantlylargerthanthosedrivingnaturalinfiltration.Dependingonthesizeoftheleaks,thesepressurescaninducemuchlargerflowsthannaturalinfiltration.Thus,itisimportanttobeabletoisolatetheseleaksfrombuildingenvelopeleaks.Theleakageofairdistributionsystemsmustbemeasuredinthefield,becauseithasbeenshownthatworkmanshipandinstallationdetailsaremoreimportantthandesignindeterminingtheleakageofthesesystems.Forcodes,standards,andothercomplianceorqualitycontrolapplications,theprecisionandrepeatabilityatmeetingaspecifiedtarget(forexample,airflowatreferencepressure)ismoreimportantthanairleakageflowsatoperatingconditions.Someexistingcodes,standards,andvoluntaryprogramsrequiretheuseofasimplertestmethod(TestMethodD)thatdoesnotseparatesupplyfromreturnleakage,leakagetoinsidefromleakagetooutside,orestimateleakagepressuresatoperatingconditions.5.5TestMethodsA,B,andCcanbeusedforenergyusecalculationsandcomplianceandqualitycontrolapplications.TestMethodDisintendedforuseincomplianceandqualitycontrolonly.1.1Thetestmethodsincludedinthisstandardareapplicabletotheairdistributionsystemsinlow-riseresidentialandcommercialbuildings.1.2Thesetestmethodscoverfourtechniquesformeasuringtheairleakageofairdistributionsystems.Thetechniquesuseairflowandpressuremeasurementstodeterminetheleakagecharacteristics.1.3Thetestmethodsfortwoofthetechniquesalsospecifytheauxiliarymeasurementsneededtocharacterizethemagnitudeofthedistributionsystemairleakageduringnormaloperation.1.4Atestmethodforthetotalrecirculatingairflowinducedbythesystemblowerisincludedsothattheairdistributionsystemleakagecanbenormalizedasisoftenrequiredforenergycalculations.1.5Theproperuseofthesetestmethodsrequiresknowledgeoftheprinciplesofairflowandpressuremeasurements.1.6Threeofthesetestmethodsareintendedtoproduceameasureoftheairleakagefromtheairdistributionsystemtooutside.Theothertestmethodmeasurestotalairleakageincludingairleakstoinsideconditionedspace.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
