【摘要】:Tracequantitiesofsulfurcompoundsinhydrocarbonproductscanbeharmfultomanycatalyticchemicalprocessesinwhichtheseproductsareused.Maximumpermissiblelevelsoftotalsulfurarenormallyincludedinspecificationsforsuchhydrocarbons.Itisrecommendedthatthistestmethodbeusedtoprovideabasisforagreementbetweentwolaboratorieswhenthedeterminationofsulfurinhydrocarbongasesisimportant.Onliquefiedpetroleumgas,totalvolatilesulfurismeasuredonaninjectedgassample.Forsuchmaterialaliquidsamplemustbeusedtomeasuretotalsulfur.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofsulfurintherangefrom1.5to100mg/kg(ppmbymass)byweightinhydrocarbonproductsthataregaseousatnormalroomtemperatureandpressure.Note18212;Thetestmethodhasbeentestedcooperativelyonlyonhigh-purityethylenegas.Precisiondatahavenotbeendevelopedforotherproducts.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSiunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgivennparenthesesareforinformationonly1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
